I would like to welcome you to the official website of the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRRMMC) Department of Dermatology.  This website has been created with the intention of making the department more accessible to our patients, affiliates, and alumni.

The mission of the JRRMMC Department of Dermatology is to provide the highest quality of dermatological care and services, and to promote excellent training and research in dermatology.  First and foremost is our goal of providing excellent care and service to the Filipino.

Since the year of its inception in 1956, our Department’s history shows dynamic changes, with a shift of focus from infectious dermatology to general dermatology, from expert-based to evidence-based.  Our strength remains in the quality of patient care we provide, the culture of service, and the high number of patients that consult with us.

JRRMMC Dermatology has been recognized widely within the country as a center for expertise in skin care, with the highest patient census among all of the accredited institutions.  Our patients range from all walks of life, from the marginalized to the affluent.  We do not discriminate in the level of care we provide, and each patient receives the utmost in available treatment.

We are a center with a dictum of service, training, and research.

Since our accreditation in 1988, the JRRMMC Department of Dermatology has been training PDS accredited dermatologists, with our graduates currently numbering more than a hundred.  The training achieved within the institution goes far beyond didactics, with a focus on leadership, research, and personality development.  Residents and medical clerks alike are guided by well-trained educators who are experts in the field and their subspecialty.  The department has a special focus on research, both as a tool in training future dermatologists, and as a means to provide our patients with the best care possible.  We are known to maintain high standards of training, with graduates who continue not only as successful dermatologists, but leaders in Dermatology.  The Department has also opened its doors to international fellows seeking superior training in Dermatology, and we are proud to have numerous graduates with flourishing practices abroad. 

As the field of medicine continues to evolve, the department continues to change.  We keep updated with the most innovative medical, surgical, and cosmetic treatments in the pursuit of providing quality service to our patients.
